Funeral Arrangements

This Saturday, July 5, at 10am the lives of Erik & Tanya will be remembered and celebrated at Golden Hills Community Church in Brentwood.  The church is located at 2401 Shady Willow Lane, just off of Lone Tree Way.

If you cannot attend that service, but would like to pay your respects to Erik & Tanya and Craig & Michele, the City of Oakley will recognize the loss of our friends at the Cityhood Celebration in Oakley this Saturday, at 9:30pm.

Prior to the fireworks commencing, both couples will be remembered with a moment of silence and an appearance by the Marine Corps drill team around 9:30 p.m.  The event will take place at Freedom Soccer Fields (Neroly and O'Hara).  If you need any additional information, please contact Leeann at 925-625-7011.

---------------------------------------------

On Saturday, June 28, a plane piloted by our friend Erik crashed on a Nevada hillside, taking the lives of Erik, his wife, Tanya, and their good friends Craig and Michele Wilson.

Erik was devoted to his wife and family and loved nothing more than spending quality time with Tanya.  During the campaign, you could find them driving to and from different precincts together or on the opposite sides of the same street, working together and talking to voters.

Erik and Tanya shared a mutual respect and friendship for each other that made them great partners and even better parents to Ethan, Elorah, Nikolette and Tezianna.  Erik particularly treasured Sundays, when he got to spend time with his children, wife, parents and extended family.

Erik loved to fly and we're terribly saddened that it came at such a great cost, but we know he was with the person he loved, celebrating the 10th anniversary of a marriage he was very proud of, to Tanya Lister of Antioch.

Most people will never know of the service Erik offered the young adults at his church every Wednesday, taking them out for pizza or bowling,  -- just trying to present a good example for them -- or, the Saturday morning counseling he offered to people in crisis.

About one month ago, Erik was getting pressured to attend a political meeting. He couldn't make it, because a member of his church was in serious trouble and sought out Erik's counsel and gentle ear.  Erik made himself available, as he usually did, to help a man in need without fanfare.

All Erik really wanted to do was help the people of East County and he frequently did so, not looking for accolades.

Erik and Tanya -- we will miss you.
